Swimming against the tide

Somebody somewhere knows something about the predicament of Nigeria in this 21st century.
So many questions needed to be answered, what are we doing? why are we where we are? what's stopping us from moving forward in all ramifications of social, infrastructural development?
Can anyone answer this mind troubling questions; i know a lot of us have something to say about this situation we have found ourselves.

Why are you so rude to us?

Little ones, they grow taller, lankier, weirder. Their faces break open, hair all over, hair on chins and on hands. You hear your son speak and he doesn't speak like your little boy anymore. He speaks like he swallowed an adult. Teenagers- they steal around you. like a boat around a rocky outcrop, opening doors, moving silently from room to room like ghosts, like mist under a door. Almost like they don't live here anymore. They don't belong. They become different people. People who don't like you, suddenly you are the guy they feel awkward around. Then the music, weird music that spears through walls as if it's made from laser. Music that goes with clothes, which now look incompressible. The pants that sweep the floor, things that hang all over the place, the eyeliners that are too pronounced. The piercings on body parts, shoes that look like boats.

Is entertainment now over education?

Entertainment industry in Nigeria some years back wasn't prolific and enormously successful as it is now. Fela Anikulapo Kuti was the biggest export in Nigeria music industry with no disrespect to King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey and the rest. Nollywood, a name fashion after the American version of Hollywood was birth with modest scores of movies that attracted the eagle eyes of CNN to it.

Customer care service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after purchase. A good organization must put pressure on itself to satisfy the customer and the end result that a product or service provided has satisfied the customer's expectation. Customer service provider must be able to adjust itself to the personality of the customer.

Nigerians are too busy governing themselves

Whenever the phrase ''Nigerians are too lazy to start a revolution'' comes up, i tend to rise my eyebrow wondering how, where, when, who is going to start the revolution when the people called Nigerians are to busy struggling to govern themselves.

The professionals, i mean people that are employed to work in an office wake up 5am, depending on which part of Lagos such individual lives, say someone coming from Ikorodu or Sango area of Ogun State where they wake up by 4am to start their day. Traffic is a factor if you live in Lagos, it takes two to four hours to get to any office destination in Eko and it takes another two to four or more hour to get to various homes while coming back from the office or work. So automatically an average office personnel in Eko travels 8 hour each day of the week so they could put food on the table with their under-priced expertise. How do you expect someone who spends 8 hour in traffic everyday to start a revolution against the overzealous corrupt political office holders? An individual whose life have been wasted on the road and manages to be productive at work.

City drags Chelsea into Manchester

Manchester City will make up ground in premier match on Sunday when they host the league leader Chelsea.
A 90th minute strike by City former player Jerome Boateng condemned Man City to 1-0 defeat at Bayern Munich on Wednesday and left Manuel Pellegrini's side without a win in three matches.

Chelsea can open up an eight point lead over the champions if they pull off repeat of their 1-0 win at the Etihad stadium back in February and City midfielder Fernadinho says it is a game that his side must win.

So let us wait till tomorrow to see how both teams will slog it out in Manchester.
